Research and development (from own sources and client sources)

In addition to research and development funded by grants we also do a wide range of research and development work upon requests by partners and clients. The knowledge that has been accumulated in the company for half a century and a well-equipped laboratory background are an excellent basis for applied research and experimental development.

The research supervised by the Scientific Director is run under the direction of the most qualified responsible units. All research is done with a detailed work plan prepared before performing that operation. The completion of each task is concluded by inspection and certification. In addition to a high degree of professional competence, each step of the research is done according to the basic process description per the requirements of MSZ EN ISO 9001:2009.

Our research topics in recent years have been the following:

2003

  • 2002-2003. cement, concrete, mortar and concrete steel ringtests
  • On-site air permeability tests by Blower-Door measurement method
  • Theoretical considerations of combustion products evacuation devices of closed combustion chamber gas appliances, and analysis of technical regulatory options
  • Comparison of damage scaling theories of reinforced concrete floor structures and new structures to prevent puncture
  • Causes of color change in thin plasters

2004

  • Development of systems for microscopic identification
  • Design and manufacture of variable-temperature and constant-pressure fatigue testing devices for thermoplastic pipes, multilayer pipes and pipe fittings

2005

  • Expert examination of supporting structures in priority categories of buildings (buildings built with concrete with bauxite cement, large panels or open-hearth slag) using the Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) method
  • Determination of the thermal coefficient of windows and doors with test chamber method per MSZ EN ISO 12567-1
  • Test method determination for the modification of standard No. MSZ 14800-6:1980
  • Further development of variable-temperature and constant-pressure fatigue testing devices for thermoplastic pipes, multilayer pipes and pipe fittings
  • Ringtest of flexural, tensile and compressive strengths of two different types of dry mortar
  • Design of complex laboratory test system

2006

  • Determination of the thermal coefficient of windows and doors with test chamber method per MSZ EN ISO 12567-1
  • Test method determination for the modification of standard No. MSZ 14800-6:1980
  • Technical requirements and professional qualification requirements for qualified users of plastered complex external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS)
  • Status reports
  • Energy certificate (sample) workout based on measurements and calculations done on specific buildings (ÉMI building U) taking into account the regulation expected to take effect on 1 Jan 2007.
  • Design, manufacture and operation of test equipment to test the resistance of acrylic residential use bathtubs, shower trays and non-ceramic, stainless steel kitchen sinks to temperature change
  • Conformity certification, type test and production control functions of building glass products with ÉMI Non-Profit LLC.
